Sat. night I went out to Puckett's for the
Honky Tonk Revival 2. I got there late and missed The Defilers. The second band, Jem Crossland & the Hypertonics (less their bass player), was already 10 minutes into their set when I came in. Jem has a powerful voice but whatever new material they did - I missed. From there on out it was not Honky Tonk nor Rockabilly but Southern Rock. I endured all I could. There were some good singers/ talented musicians but they were not what I consider honky tonk. There wasn't a good crowd out for the show. Between those watching the Carolina Panther's play and those at
ElvisFest I guess there just aren't enough folks to go around.
